Description
The elegance of Robert
Cazimero's voice is something not easy to forget. His name has been chiseled on
an elite tablet that contains those singers recognizable by the first notes they
sing. Combine that incomparable voice with his fingers laced on piano keys, and
yhou have the essence of the music on "RUC", a solo CD released by Robert
Cazimero.
The music selected for this CD pays tribute to Robert's voice, each song
flowing freely with emotion...it's an intimate glance at Robert's feelings about
love and his home here in Hawai'i. On several songs he is joined by the men of
Halau Na Kamalei, their voices providing the accompaniment that fulfills the
sentiment of each song.
With songs chosen from two previous recordings ("Robert Cazimero" and "Love
Songs"), the music has been digitally re-mastered to allow the full tone of

Description
The hula upbringing that kumu
hula Robert Cazimero experienced as a student was not merely comprised of the
dance itself. Hula class under the direction of Aunty Maiki Aiu additionally
included the skill of blending voices together in song and chant. It is this
tradition and training that Robert and the men of Halau Na Kamalei bring to
their brand new release, RCHNK.
Listening to the songs on the CD, it is easy to visualize the moment that
these special melodies were recorded...Robert Cazimero at the piano surrounded
by the men of Halau Na Kamalei as they lifted their voices in song. This
intimacy is often displayed when Robert and Halau Na Kamalei perform in
performances around the world and at their annual fundraisers.
The songs and chants on RCHNK were composed primarily by Robert and former or
current halau members. The talents of featured vocalists on several songs belong
to Robert and Halau Na Kamalei haumana (students). |

Every year on May 1st The
Brothers Cazimero take stage at the Waikiki Shell in Honolulu for their annual
May Day Concert. This DVD documents their 25th Annual May Day concert filmed on
May 1, 2002. The DVD includes hula performances by Leina'ala Heine, Halau Na
Kamalei, Na Pualei O Likolehua, the Ladies of the Royal Dance Company, Halau I
Ka Wekiu, and Kalau O Ke'A'ali'i Ku Makani.
